I am beyond honored to have been included in today

I am beyond honored to have been included in today’s #inspiredbycollab! Our fabulous host @burntcookiesbymurrah gathered a group of cookie artists and a group of cake artists and secretly matched each cookier to a caker (and vice versa). The goal was to create a confection inspired by the work of your match. And WOW did I have a lot to be inspired by!

My match @sophiamyacupcakes has a collection of work that is quite simply a feast for the eyes! Rather than narrow my inspiration to one particular set, I took broader inspiration from Nina’s bright, glittery, gilded and bejeweled style. Her use of color is brilliant and eye-catching, which instantly made me think of the exquisite colors of a peacock. But I also wanted to pay homage to the way Nina brings in touches of gold and jewels to so many of her sets. Thus was born this peacock brooch. It was fun to break out of my comfort zone and try some new techniques here. I hope you like it!
